Client Service Manager - DBA


The Client Delivery Team is looking for an experienced Defined Benefit Client Service Manager with strong initiative and extensive experience to join their dynamic team. The individual will be responsible for leading a team of administrators and for delivering administration services for one or more clients. You will be part of a team responsible for day-to-day and cyclical administration processes for our clients' pension plans. You will also be exposed to excellent growth and development opportunities when partnering with others in the overall planning of new projects and processes.

  • Lead a team of administrators by championing quality, integrating team efforts through status meetings, sharing appropriate information, and building depth of expertise

  • Ensure all services delivered adhere to established procedures and plan/client requirements;

  • Ensure all service delivery meets or exceeds the client’s service level agreements

  • Ensure work completed by the team is in accordance with the contract

  • Manages and handles complex or sensitive cases or processes

  • Prepare and submit all required internal monitoring reports

  • Prepare all client invoices

  • Plan and monitor workflows to ensure the timely delivery of services

  • Work with the account executive in managing the client relationship through regular interactions

  • Manage the system change request process

  • Solicit regular feedback from client regarding our performance

  • Prepare and provide fee quotations to client in accordance with Quality

  • Procedures and obtain client's agreement

  • Negotiating implementation deliverables

  • Work with client to establish Service Level Agreements, Contract renewals and Out of Scope arrangements

  • Work with client to manage priorities and expectations

  • Manage change management process including requirements definition and meeting client requirements

  • Recommend policy and process changes/improvements

  • Provide training/coaching to team members

  • Support and manage internal and external audit processes Skills and Experience

  • Canada: Bilingual French/English

  • Experience with leading teams

  • 7 - 10 years Defined Pension Administration experience

  • University degree or college diploma with demonstrable mathematical aptitude (actuarial background and understanding of actuarial principles is an asset)

  • Proficient in MS Office applications and essential computer functions

  • Strong mathematical/analytical skills and problem solving skills

  • Experience with both Federally and Provincially regulated plan an asset

  • Strong working knowledge of defined benefit pension plan administration, policy and applicable multi-provincial and federal government legislation.

  • Strong working knowledge of Income Tax Act as it applies to defined benefit pension plans

  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal skills both in French and English (Canada only)

  • Post secondary education, bachelor’s degree is preferred

  • Industry specific certifications
