Description:

The Detailer is responsible for taking customer drawings, convert to simple drawings using AutoCAD 2D, then create plans to manufacture product and deliver to the customer. In this role, they will spend about 50% of their time using AutoCAD 2D creating detail drawings, while other 50% is coordination internally and with customers to assist with any problem solving and project delivery. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will be working on 5-6 projects at different stages of completion. They do use a propriety add-in within AutoCAD 2D which will be taught to each individual.

This role is specifically on the Deck design team now located in Fort Wayne, IN.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Tangible Must Have Qualifications:

• AutoCAD drafting experience within a relatable industry- construction, building design, etc.

• Understanding of structural loads and connections- ability to review decking design drawings and connections

• Familiar with approval process with designs and ability to work with a client or a fabrication plant through the approval process on a project

Tangible “Nice-to-Have” Qualifications:

•Any direct experience with Steel, Joists and/or Decking design

•Any experience with leadership or training

Intangible Qualifications:

•Strong ability to Multi-task- organization is HUGE! (This is one of the main things they screen for during their questions in the interview)

•Flexible mindset and able to adjust to day-to-day tasks immediately- very big with collaboration

•Able to be held accountable to metrics/results and accuracy/quality of drawings

•Goal Oriented and Deadline Driven- they are very focused on making sure they do not miss project deadlines

•Capable of giving and receiving feedback

•Can adjust accordingly to culture and attitude
