Lilly Analyst - Corporate Financial Reporting in Indianapolis, Indiana

Our Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) team is looking for a key contributor who will be responsible for many aspects within the CFR month-end closing process and will serve as a team S4/Hana Power User. Responsibilities include assisting in execution of the consolidations tasks during month-end close, which can include but not be limited to uploading journal vouchers, intercompany elimination and investigation, trial balance upload, ledger checks, translation, government reporting, system trouble-shooting and issue resolution.

This position will also serve as power-user for SAP Consolidations and Reporting and assist with any SAP changes impacting the corporate reporting, as well as help conduct training sessions for CFR and other cross-functional teams. This role will be responsible for creating new reporting and queries supporting the consolidations and external reporting processes and will require interaction and understanding of each of the roles and responsibilities within the team.

Key Objectives:

Learn all aspects of and assist with Corporate Consolidations processes, including accounting and performing the consolidations process, sufficient to share responsibilities with other CFR team members; Prepare/Review certain Government reports; Coordinate Corporate Consolidation related SAP systems changes, testing and training; S4/P report building supporting all roles within CFR; Pursue opportunities for streamlining, improving, and automating processes

Position Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Closing Coordination : Ensure closing and consolidation vouchers are prepared and processed accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor Non-SAP affiliate trial balance submissions. Work with other CFR team members and learn all aspects of the Corporate financial consolidation process sufficient to share responsibilities; Review of Corporate audit and quality checks during the monthly close; Troubleshoot issues with affiliate and GBS accounting personnel, CFP and BIG COE, BPKC and country/regional controllers. Pursue opportunities to streamline processes within the closing process.

  • SAP Power User: SAP power-user for Consolidations and Management Reporting. Provide training to members of CFR and other affiliate/functional personnel who need access to SAP Consolidations. Perform changes in SAP consolidations module, as well as testing related to SAP upgrades when they occur to maintain an adequate control environment. Seek opportunities to provide mentorship and consulting to make others more effective and ensure (along with colleagues in BPKC) that we use the power of SAP functionality.

  • Special Projects: maintain year-end reporting schedules; closing calendar and contacts; assist with government reporting; and other special projects as identified throughout the year.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or related subject area

  • 3 or more years Public accounting or Corporate accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of S4/Hana and Group Reporting

Additional Preferences:

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and perform well under pressure

  • Ability to work independently and self-manage various projects simultaneously

  • Working knowledge of consolidation tasks across the group

  • Extensive knowledge of Excel and SAP

  • Strong teamwork skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively to meet Team Lilly goals

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Other Information:

Flexibility during peak closing periods. Overtime is required based upon business needs and issues, particularly during closing at quarter and year-end. Minimal travel. Certain roles and responsibilities may change as projects and other business needs arise.
