Project Manager (Pensions / Benefits Consulting) - (APMI qualified) – Manchester
Buck offers a range of retirement services to help plan sponsors manage their programs, including actuarial consulting, defined benefit and defined contribution plan design & administration, and compliance consulting. Our service offering also includes data remediation, de-risking, and developing end game strategies for frozen pension plans.
We provide high quality investment advice, investment management, and outsourced investment management services to our defined benefit, defined contribution, foundation, and endowment clients.
Our Actuarial and Investment consultants work together as part of Retirement Practice which mean we can provide you with a wealth of career development options.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and enterprising pensions processional with strong project management experience to join our Retirement Consulting team as a Project Manager / Consultant (Pensions / Benefits), in our Manchester office.
The ideal candidate will be coming from a Pensions background, ideally APMI qualified or on-track, and is keen to continue their career development with an emphasis on client consulting.
We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, business acumen and a client focus, alongside the core technical skills.
Working as part of our highly collaborative team managing the delivery of Buck’s market leading GMP Equalisation solution “Square”, this role will involve a combination of project and client facing work.
You will play a key role on the delivery of solutions to Consultants, Account managers and Administrators across Buck.
What we look for (skills & experience):
Ideally part-qualified of recently qualified actuary with a consulting background;
Good numerical/mathematics-based degree;
Strong analytical, numerical and critical thinking skills, including a good understanding of actuarial approaches for pensions;
Good level of enterprise, with the ability to lead multiple small-scale projects concurrently;
Strong stakeholder management with the ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients;
Strong all-round communication skills;
Able to prioritise, organise and carry out tasks within deadlines.
