We are seeking a Principal Strategic Advisor, Planning and Performance within our Diversified Business Group. In this critical role, you will work collaboratively across the division to guide data-driven progress towards goals and strategic priorities. Bring business analytics skills to develop insights and identify opportunities to actualize our organizational mission and vision and plan the strategy. Support a focus on insight-driven decisions, innovation, customer centric experience and local/national collaborations. Work collaboratively to manage cross-team recurring processes requiring input and action from both internal and external partners. Provide strategic guidance to the division and other stakeholders within Blue Cross NC based on divisional long-range strategic direction. Blue Cross NC diversification strategy includes TPAs, care delivery providers, a strategic portfolio of investments in healthcare funds, and more.

What You Will Do

  • Utilize data, including business financials, to produce analyses that prompt thoughtful questions and create visibility into areas for strategic development or operational improvement.

  • Drive accountability towards measurable and actionable short- and long-term goals for both the division and the platform of diversified assets.

  • Act as a consultant to encourage data-backed, business-minded, strategic thinking across the division.

  • Work directly with staff and senior leadership across the division to proactively identify and prioritize strategic needs and create meaningful and actionable outputs; drive the strategic development process to address these needs and integrate and align work to the company’s overall strategic goals.

  • Contribute to the development of division strategic positions and related annual and long-term planning efforts.

  • Serve as strategic expert on departmental projects and act as a liaison to planning & performance teams in other divisions.

  • Play a leading role in divisional and inter-divisional planning processes to advocate for the priorities, needs, and outputs of the Diversified Business Group.

  • Leverage customer and consumer insights to develop holistic strategies, programs and plans to effectively drive innovation and business outcomes and maximize ROI in varied areas.

  • Build process and expectations around divisional planning & performance needs including leadership reporting on goals and priorities in executive governance forums (e.g., Blue Cross NC Board of Directors, DBG Asset Board of Directors).

  • Project manage existing and to-be-built processes to support divisional planning & asset performance monitoring gathering input and buy-in from divisional and diversified asset executive leadership team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 8+ Years of Experience ; in lieu of degree, 10+ years exp.

Nice to Have ( preferred qualifications )

  • Healthcare industry expertise

  • Experience with business analytics tools and data management

Salary Range

$105,600.00 - $191,800.00
