PHARMACIST

SITE OF SERVICE:

  • Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, VA (NMCP) and its associated Branch Health/Medical Clinics (BHC) and Tricare Prime Clinics
  • Full Time

POSITION QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.

``` - Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE). - Have successfully completed an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) approved continuing education of at least 15 hours which maintains pharmacy skills and knowledge in the preceding two (2) years.

``` - Certification: BLS certification through AHA. Must be hands-on course. - Experience: - Possess experience as a pharmacist for 12 months within the preceding 24 months. Possess experience in the use of pharmacy computer systems such as the Navy TRIPHARM Computer System - Licensure: Possess a current and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Island. - U.S. Citizenship:** Shall be a U.S. citizen.

``` - English Language Requirement: Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate. - Physical Capability: Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required under the contract .

HOURS:

  • Pharmacist (Hospital and/or Scott Center ) The hospital Pharmacy is open 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year, including all Federal Holidays. Scott Center hours are 0600 to 1800; however, Healthcare Workers (HCWs)shall rotate among both locations. Services shall be provided to cover all hours of the day. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an eight and half (8.5) to nine (9) hour period, to include an uncompensated thirty (30) minute to sixty (60) minute lunch break, respectively. Shifts will be on a rotated basis within the time ranges specified as clinical demand dictate. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of eighty (80) hours per two-week period.
  • Pharmacist (Hospital - Critical Care) The Pharmacy is open 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year, including all Federal Holidays. Services shall be provided to cover all hours of the day. Shifts will normally be scheduled for an eight and half (8.5) to nine (9) hour period, to include an uncompensated thirty (30) minute to sixty (60) minute lunch break, respectively. The HCW is expected to participate in bedside rounds daily. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of eighty (80) hours per two-week period.
