Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Employment Specialist to join our Recovery Services team in Rolla, Missouri. In this vital role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing all phases of clients' vocational services, providing individualized career planning, job placement, and retention support. If you have a passion for empowering individuals and a deep understanding of the local labor market, we encourage you to apply.

Your primary responsibilities will include assessing clients' vocational strengths, needs, and preferences, conducting career planning and job development activities, building employer relationships, and facilitating long-term vocational success. You will serve as an advocate for clients, educating employers on the benefits of hiring individuals with disabilities and facilitating job accommodations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized career planning, job placement, and retention support to clients.

  • Conduct vocational assessments and utilize client information for employment goal planning.

  • Facilitate team meetings to discuss client employment goals and decision-making.

  • Teach job-seeking and job retention skills to clients.

  • Develop employer relationships and create competitive, integrated employment opportunities.

  • Advocate for clients with employers, referral sources, and other stakeholders.

  • Educate employers on hiring individuals with disabilities and facilitate job accommodations.

  • Promote services and clients through community events and awareness activities.

  • Maintain frequent contact with referral sources and report job development outcomes.

  • Respond to crisis situations with clients at their worksite.

  • Travel extensively to conduct job development and support activities.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate required

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in an applicable field from an accredited institution preferred

  • At least one year of experience providing employment services

Additional Qualifications:

  • Understanding of supporting individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment

  • Knowledge of case management, rehabilitation methods, and legal requirements related to mental health and substance use disorders

  • Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills

  • Successful completion of background checks, including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check

  • Completion of New Hire Orientation and Relias training

  • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance

  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally for sedentary work
