Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services (STARS) is a public transportation system for the urbanized Saginaw  area, which travels about 1.2 million miles per year. STARS provides basic transportation needs and is an important  partner in economic development. STARS also serves as an effective tool for mobility-challenged citizens. It is the  MISSION of STARS to provide safe, efficient, dependable, and affordable public transportation for ALL citizens of  Saginaw.

Position: Garage Technician (Full-Time)

General Summary: The Garage Technician is responsible for performing various duties including checking and maintaining oil and fluid levels.  Fueling, greasing, parts cleaning and other duties not defined as skilled labor.

Essential Job Functions: 1. Clean or lubricate vehicles, machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools,  power tools and cleaning equipment. 2. Adjust, maintain, and repair tools, equipment and machines and assist more skilled workers with similar tasks. 3. Position vehicles, machinery, equipment, and other objects for assembly, repair, or installation. 4. Transfer tools, parts, equipment, and supplies to and from workstations and other areas.  5. Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or the Senior Manager of Maintenance and Facilities. Reports to: Senior Manager of Maintenance and Facilities

Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.  One to three years relevant experience

Experience: One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience   Examination/Screening: Selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a drug screen, physical  examination, and background check.
